Martial arts are one of the best forms of exercise for kids and are hugely beneficial to personal development. Children who participate in our classes will better their health as they improve their cardiorespiratory endurance, flexibility, muscular endurance and coordination.

CLB offers children’s lessons on Monday (Grappling) and Wednesday (Striking), from 17:30 to 18:30.

“The champions are not made in the gym. The champions are made of something that they have inside, a wish, a dream, a vision.”

Mohamed Ali

Monday: We practice Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with kimono. The courses start with a warm-up, we continue with different coordination and motor skills exercises, we start drilling techniques, and then we practice light sparring. We usually finish the class with a game.

Wednesday: We practice striking techniques (Boxing, Kick Boxing and Muay Thai). The courses start with a warm up, we continue with different coordination and motor skills exercises, and then we drill striking techniques. We end with a physical circuit and then finish with a game.

Benefits of Martial Arts for Kids:

Cardiorespiratory endurance
The heart and lungs must adapt when our body performs activities that require making large efforts and using muscle groups for long periods of time. This will ensure that the blood is well distributed and that our body recovers quickly from effort.

Muscle strength and endurance
Muscular strength is the ability of muscle to generate tension and overcome the opposing force. Muscular endurance is the muscle’s ability to maintain contractions for a long time.

It is the ability of the joint to move in a wide range of motion. It is not responsible for the realization of the movement, but facilitates it. These activities should start at a young age and should continue throughout life.

It is the ability to use our senses to execute movements with precision and agility. This should be worked on during childhood.

Over time, children will benefit from training in different ways, like gaining self-confidence and self-control.

Note: On Wednesdays children do not spar because we think they are too small exchange blows at this age.
